5-year NSF funded research on conducting formative studies, participatory design, and LLM experiments to co-design novel language technologies to support caregiving.
We are developing LLM-enhanced language technologies to support problem solving therapy for caregivers of older adults living in senior living facilities. This project is in collaboration with George Demiris (UPenn), Karla Washington (Wash U St Louis), and Shadi Rezapur (Drexel University).
We highlight how in-person social connectedness should play a central role in designing social technologies. We devise methods, tools, and paradigms that helps HCI researchers and practitioners to foster social connectedness in their technology design. This project is in collaboration with Gabi Marcu (University of Michigan).
We are analyzing donated private-social media messages among youth and large scale surveys on perceptions toward how AI can help give support to help-givers. This project is in collaboration with Afsaneh Razi (Drexel University).
